VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Head Coach: Overall responsibility for team, including team draft, practices and games. Training is provided prior to the beginning of the season. All coaches will be required to submit to a CORI background check. Time commitment varies by league.
Assistant Coach: Assists the head coach in all matters. Assistant coaches are also required to submit to a CORI background check. Time commitment varies by league.
Field Maintenance / Field Lining: Assist in preparing the fields at the beginning of the season and prior to games. Volunteers may assist once or several times. Field lining volunteers will be asked to attend a brief training session at the beginning of the season.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in distribution, collection and maintenance of all league equipment.
Year-end Picnic: Assist with our year-end picnic held in mid-June. Volunteers are needed to purchase and pick up equipment and supplies required for the day and to staff the food stations for 1-2 hour shifts.
Trophy Coordinator: Responsible for the purchase and distribution of participation trophies for the Fundamental, Instructional and Minor leagues, the championship trophies for the Minor and Major leagues, and the skills awards for our field day events.
Community Day: Volunteers are needed to set up the Norfolk Girls Softball booth at Community Day during early June. Volunteers are also needed to purchase supplies for our booth. Volunteers may also staff the Norfolk Girls Softball booth for a 1-2 hour shift.
Team Parent: Assist the coach in administration matters including communicating schedules, schedule changes, team and league events.
Winter Clinic Volunteer: Assist in running drills during the 5 session winter clinics held in January through March. Drills will be provided.
